We are so excited to have you and your pet join the GVH grooming family. Your pet’s comfort and safety is our number one priority while they are in our care. In an attempt to educate and provide the best information about the grooming process, we require all grooming clients to read and sign the following grooming agreement. Fleas: If fleas are discovered during the grooming process, your pet will be given a flea treatment. The cost of this treatment will be your responsibility. This treatment is not only required to rid your pet of fleas, but also to stop the transfer of fleas to other pets in our grooming facility. A flea infestation can lead to tapeworms and other health problems. We recommend keeping your pet on flea prevention like Nexgard or Bravecto year round. Aggressive or dangerous pets: You MUST tell the staff at GVH if your pet(s) may bite, has bitten, has shown signs of aggression towards people or pets, or has been aggressive during specific grooming procedures. A muzzle will be used if necessary. A muzzle will not harm your pet, and can protect both your pet and the groomer. A “Handling Fee” will be charged in addition to the grooming charge if additional staff is needed to help groom your pet safely. GVH reserves the right to stop a groom at any time or refuse a groom. This is for the safety of your pet and our staff. Senior Pets/ Medical Problems: Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful, especially for senior pets and pets with health problems. The grooming process can sometimes expose hidden medical problems or aggravate existing problems. Senior pets and pets with health issues run a higher risk of injury during grooming and therefore will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort and in styles that will not add to their stress. In the best interest of your pet, this agreement gives Georgetown Veterinary Hospital the permission to administer immediate medical treatment to your pet if it is deemed necessary. We will make every effort to contact you before treating your pet, but during emergencies this is not always possible. The cost of medical care provided to your pet during grooming will be your responsibility. Matted Pets: Pets with matted coats will take extra time and care during the grooming process. Additional charges will apply if your pet is matted. The groomer will discuss the condition of your pet’s coat during the consultation. If desired, the groomer will make every effort to remove the mats by hand, but in some cases only shaving can remove mats. Matting can cause irritation of the skin below and removing mats increase the chance of nicks, cuts and abrasions. Matted coats can also hold moisture or urine which can cause skin infections. . In the best interest of your pet, this agreement gives Georgetown Veterinary Hospital the permission to administer immediate medical treatment of problems caused by a matted coat. Problems or Concerns: If you are dissatisfied with the results of your pet’s grooming appointment please let us know within 24 hours (1 business day). We will do our best to resolve the concern for you. Accidents: There is always a chance that an accident can occur during grooming. Grooming equipment is sharp and pets are wiggly! We use extreme caution during grooming, but sometimes accidents (cuts, nicks, scratches, etc) can happen. Every effort will be made to ensure your pet is groomed safely. Respect and Kindness: Please be kind to our groomers and staff. Grooming requires a lot of patience and training. Our staff goes above and beyond to make sure every pet has the best experience possible when here for grooming. We kindly ask that you give us the same respect in return. We reserve the right to refuse service if kindness and respect is not given to our staff. Cancellation: If you need to cancel or make changes to a scheduled appointment, please provide us with at least 24 hours of notice. Keep in mind that we are not open on the weekends, so changes for Monday will need to be made on Friday. If you do not show up for a scheduled appointment you will be charged a no call fee that equals half of the service scheduled. This fee will need to be paid before any other services can be scheduled. By signing this agreement, you or your agent, agree to the terms of service outlined above. I do hereby and by the present forever release Georgetown Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Hassan, her agents, servants, & representatives from any and all liability arising from the grooming of the animal(s) listed above.
